When: Friday, September 20, 12:05 pm to 1:00 pm

Registration & Location: This online forum will be conducted via Zoom. Registration is free and open to everyone.

Topic: This forum will present the findings of the extensive public engagement process led by the CNY Community Engagement Committee (CEC) to identify priorities that will help ensure that opportunities presented by Micron’s investment in our region benefit all. Formed by Governor Hochul, the CEC engaged nearly 13,000 individuals through listening sessions, focus groups, surveys, and more. The findings of their recently released report, “Harnessing Opportunity, Community Priorities for Central New York,” now serve as the framework for the distribution of $500 million in awards over 20 years through the Green Chips Community Fund, a partnership between Empire State Development and Micron Technology, Inc. Panelists will speak to the depth of the engagement process, the priorities that emerged, and next steps for moving these priorities forward.

Daniel Kolinski, a graduate of West Genesee High School in Camillus, NY, began his journey in higher education at Hobart College, where he earned degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies. After graduating, his professional path led him to Washington, DC, where he spent three years working for a political communications firm as an account manager. Seeking a change, he returned to Syracuse in 2015 to secure a master’s in sports management while taking on the role of Director of Volleyball Operations at Syracuse University.

Upon completing his coursework, Daniel returned to DC, to rejoin his former firm during the 2016 national elections. A subsequent return to Syracuse saw him involved in local political races before joining Empire State Development, New York State’s economic development agency. Starting as Deputy Director in the Central New York region, Daniel is now the Regional Director, a position he proudly holds today after more than six years of service at the agency. He currently resides in Camillus with his wife Brittany and their daughter Ava.
