FOCUS Elevates Citizen Voices
FOCUS Greater Syracuse, Inc. began as a community-wide visioning program. FOCUS was created to make Syracuse a better place to live, work, and play. Initiated by a group of interested residents, the program was loosely based on visioning projects conducted in different parts of the country.
The Visioning program aimed to determine a favorable direction for Syracuse’s growth and advancement. FOCUS’ approach stood out from similar initiatives because the concepts were generated by the residents of Onondaga County, rather than those in positions of power.
FOCUS asked citizens what their dreams were for the future of our community.
