February 2019 Forum: Meet the Police Chief

June 4, 2019
Syracuse Police Chief Kenton Buckner
Syracuse’s new Police Chief Kenton Buckner was the featured speaker Feb. 7.

FOCUS FORUM and THURSDAY MORNING ROUND TABLE

Syracuse Police Chief Kenton Buckner

Syracuse’s new police chief adroitly addressed questions for a standing-room-only crowd at the Syracuse University Community Engagement Offices.

He offered a fresh point of view and covered the bases on this community and police strategies. Among the topics he addressed were adding officers, recruiting officers from all parts of the community, and assuring that those officers earn the respect of the community. But his message went much deeper than that. FOCUS and TMR have begun work toward more in-depth community follow-through on topics raised.

You can see the a short Spectrum News summary, or listen to the entire event on WCNY-FM radio 91.3 at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019. You also can hear this and broadcasts of the joint FOCUS Forum/TMR economic development presentations archived at WCNY-FM.
