Tim Fox, Executive Producer, NewsChannel 9 WSYR
Tim Fox is an award-winning communications professional whose career in broadcasting, journalism, media production, and community engagement has spanned more than four decades in Central New York.
A longtime leader at WSYR-TV, Fox has served in numerous roles including reporter, sports anchor, executive producer, sales marketing manager, and Director of New Media.
He is the creator and executive producer of “Bridge Street,” Central New York’s long-running morning talk and entertainment program now in its twentieth season. He also helped develop and produce the Emmy-nominated feature series “Tell Me Something Good,” highlighting uplifting stories and community connections across Central New York.
Throughout his career, Fox has developed documentaries, public affairs programming, regional television specials, telethons, and community initiatives while working closely with local organizations, sponsors, educators, and nonprofit leaders.
Following the September 11th attacks, Fox led a six-market Red Cross telethon that raised more than $1 million in a single night. He also co-authored the best-selling book Images of America: Syracuse Television, chronicling the first fifty years of television in Syracuse and Upstate New York.
In addition to his broadcasting career, Fox has taught journalism and broadcasting at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and at Cazenovia College. His work has also included radio hosting, voice acting, documentary narration, public speaking, and community advocacy.
Fox has received numerous honors including New York Emmy nominations, Syracuse Press Club awards, induction into the Syracuse Area Music Awards Hall of Fame, and recognition from organizations including the United Way, American Heart Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Salvation Army.
Deeply involved in the Central New York community, Fox has contributed his leadership and talents to countless civic, educational, and charitable organizations through volunteer service, advisory boards, telethons, public events, and mentorship initiatives.
