RECOMMENDATION FOR AN AGE-FRIENDLY CNY

The F.O.C.U.S. Age Friendly CNY Citizens Strategic Action Planning Group has been researching how to provide a marketplace of services for local residents to provide them with the resources that will make our region a place where people will want to continue to live as involved, productive citizens as they grow older. The recent announcement of a 2-1-1 service provides an answer. In July 2000 the Federal Communications Commission assigned the three-digit dialing code 2-1-1 for the exclusive purpose of providing widespread access to community information and referral services. Recently, CNY launched a local marketplace of services available by dialing 211. Check out the website: www.211cny.com
